Now You See Her
Now You See Her is reliably hard for me to describe. It started to take shape as a result of a caffeine induced day dream that I had one day at work. The image of my friend Beckett K. sitting on a park bench would not leave my mind. Later, I contacted them and asked if they would like to help me write a screenplay based on the image.
Production was at times exhilarating and at times hell. Fact blended with fiction. There was camaraderie and drama and the damn thing turned my apartment completely inside out for nine days. It remains the most humbling creative endeavor I’ve undertaken.
Editing was a process of boiling down the voluminous vat of footage into a strange soup that I hope is tasty but (to break with the metaphor) I doubt makes much logical sense to those who aren’t intimate with it’s creators. Still I can’t help but feel a tremendous affection for our strange little creation.
